Abstract Liver cirrhosis, alcoholic liver diseases, non-alcoholic fatty and steatohepatitis are the major risk factors for damage leading to hepatocellular carcinoma. Oxidative stress insulin resistance main pathogenetic mechanisms hepatic cell injury in these patients. The present review is first attempt which focuses on biological activities of Bergenia ciliata explore its benefits possible applications treatment ailments. an evergreen herb belonging family saxifragaceae regarded as a miracle due wide medicinal applications. data published India other nations methodically reviewed summarized this article.
